Another week down, and we’re coming down to the final stretch of the season. I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year, because some of the best football is played with teams vying for playoff spots (or losing teams just trying to hamper others from getting in). But it also means the season is nearing an end, and that means many moons without football. The older I get though, the shorter that time frame seems to be, so I guess it’s not that big of a deal now. Alright, on with the picks for week 12:
Thursday Night
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders
The Raiders aren’t getting their first win of the season this week either. The Chiefs are hot right now and I don’t expect them to do anything short of demolishing Oakland.
Chiefs 27, Raiders 3
Sunday
Cleveland Browns vs Atlanta Falcons
In years past, I would have most definitely picked the Falcons to win, but this season this game could go either way. I have a hard time putting faith in the Browns, but they have pulled out some decent wins. I also have a hard time putting faith in the Falcons, but they are in first place in their division (as laughable as that is at 4-6). I’m going to pick the Falcons against my better judgement.
Falcons 21, Browns 20
Tennessee Titans vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles were a joke last week, getting demolished by my Packers. However, they get a reprieve this week, and won’t drop another game against a team as shitty as the Titans.
Eagles 31, Titans 14
Detroit Lions vs. New England Patriots
This game is important for two reasons. One, I get to see how the Lions fare against the Patriots, as our similar team makeups will allow me to compare for the following week when the Packers face them. Two, if the Pats manage the win (which I’m thinking they will), provided there are no mishaps for the Pack, we’ll take first place in the North.
Patriots 34, Lions 27
Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings
I can’t see this being anything short of a murder. We dismantled the Vikings once already this year, and I don’t see why that won’t happen again. They still don’t have AP and they still don’t have a QB. I’d almost guarantee the Packers are in sole possession of 1st place in the NFC North after this week. Next week will be a challenge though.
Packers 42, Vikings 13
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts aren’t looking as good as they could this year, but they’re still not dropping a game to the Jags. The Jags are just horrible.
Colts 28, Jags 10
CincinnatiĀ Bengals vs. Houston Texans
The Bengals and the Texans are both hard to pin down this year. I can’t really decide who’s going to show up and who’s going to blow up. I’m going to pick the Bengals, but it could really go either way.
Bengals 24, Texans 17
New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills
I think the Bills take this one, as they just seem like the lesser of two evils. I.E. they’re both bad, but the Jets flat out suck this year.
Bills 17, Jets 7
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Chicago Bears
The Bears managed a win last week, and I think they can manage to beat the Bucs, but seeing as how Josh McCown did such a good job for the Bears covering for Cutler last year, he just might known enough about the team to get a win. They won last week after all. I’m still going with the Bears on this one.
Bears 27, Bucs 14
Arizona Cardinals vs. Seattle Seahawks
The Cardinals have been the team to beat in the NFC pretty much all year. They have the best record in the league. The Seahawks have been looking like shit for most of the year. They are a team that could give AZ its second loss of the season, but I just don’t see it happening.
Cards 27, Seachickens 10
St. Louis Rams vs. San Diego Chargers
The Chargers have went from being AFC contenders to the joke they are every other season. I saw it coming, but can admit that they showed promise. The Rams have been showing promise as well, taking care of the Broncos last week. I don’t see where the Chargers can come up with a win if Manning couldn’t.
Rams 20, Chargers 13
Miami Dolphins vs. Denver Broncos
Manning is pissed about losing to the Rams. He’ll take it out on the Dolphins. Sushi time.
Broncos 42, Dolphins 21
Washington Redskins vs. San Francisco 49ers
As much as I love seeing the 9ers lose, it’s not happening this week. The Skins are a joke and RGIII needs to be dropped. I’m so glad to see the fad of “mobile QBs” falling by the wayside, as Wilson, Kap, and RGIII are all under performers in the long run.
49ers 27, Skins 10
Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants
I called this game in favor of the Giants last time, and though the Cowboys don’t look as good as they did back then, I still think they win it. Eli Manning looks like a retard, by the way.
Cowboys 27, Giants 20
Monday Night
Baltimore Ravens vs. New Orleans Saints
I’m going with the Ravens here, only because the Saints have looked shitty most of the year.
Ravens 19, Saints 10
